Our Mission & Vision

Aid for Developing Countries (AFDC) is a non-profit 501.c.3 corporation set up for the express purpose of providing humanitarian assistance to disadvantaged people in developing countries.  If you share our concern for the health and welfare of the people of Haiti, please provide whatever assistance you can to one of our ministries.

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to our ministry in Haiti. Our passion and goal is to provide the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Haiti.

 

Bill Moore, President

Bill and his wife Renita have been traveling to the country of Haiti for 25 years.  
 
 

 

Jim Young, Vice President

Jim Young has been involved in AFDC’s work in Haiti since 2008.   He is an environmental engineer who specializes in water treatment.    Consequently, his role in AFDC’s ‘Care for Haiti’ project has been to design, construct, and install filters on cisterns that supply clean water to schools in the Creve area.   He also arranged for repair of a well at the Salem school and installation of an electric pump in that well.    He also manages the demonstration garden and bee projects and assists as needed with the animal clinic.

 


Renita Moore, Secretary

Renita L. Moore has had a heart for Haiti since 1998.  She is a Registered Nurse and Home School Mom.  She coordinates our Mission trips and Sponsorship program.  She currently lives in Bella Vista, Arkansas with her husband Bill Moore (AFDC-CEO) and two children; Emily and Seth.  She also has 3 older children and 6 grandchildren.  Her hobbies are card making, paper beads and other crafts.  Renita is also the Director of the Missions’ programs in their church.

 

 

Sherry Young, Director

 

 

 

Gina Tynes

 Gina and her husband Otha along with 4 children moved to NorthwestArkansas from Van Buren, AR in 1995. They currently reside in Rogers with their two boys Josh and Michael still living at home.  Gina is the Director of Children’s Ministries/Church Administrator at Bethel Baptist Church in Bentonville, AR.  She began serving the people of Haiti in 2006.    “The hands and feet of Jesus,” one of the greatest privileges we have has Christians. 

 

IMG_0546Grace Donoho, Ed.D.

Born and raised Chicago, Illinois, Grace and her family moved to Northwest Arkansas in December 1976. She earned a M.Ed. and an Ed.D. from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She retired from the Jones Center where she served as Director of Education. Her volunteer service includes facilitator for the Gaps in Services to Marshallese Task Force, facilitator for the Arkansas Holocaust Education Committee, board member Aid for Developing Countries – Haiti, the Adult Education Advisory Committee at Northwest Technical Institute, Washington County Credit Council of Arkansas Community Action Board member and EFNEP Advisory Committee.
